Employee Spotlight: George Garren

With more than 20 years in the rigging business, George Garren appreciates that each day on the job still feels different.

“I enjoy the versatility. I get to see something new every day,” he said.

As a millwright foreman at CEI Crane & Rigging, George serves as crew leader, supervising a team of millwrights, iron workers and operators on each project. Specializing in the rubber industry, he travels to jobsites across the country, providing moving and rigging services to commercial and industrial manufacturers.

With vast industry experience, he worked at Keller Rigging Company for more than 20 years, before much of Keller’s assets and employees were brought over to CEI in 2014.

CEI Crane & Rigging President Brian Selinsky said George brings a refreshing attitude to the team. “He’s been a breath of fresh air for us. He’s a good leader. He makes it easily known what needs to be done and communicates well with his crew.”

When he’s not at work, George enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening. Married for more than ten years, he and his wife have five children.
