CEI HELPS TOM BENSON PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME STADIUM SHINE
Background
Established in 1963, the Pro Football Hall of Fame hosts an annual Enshrinement Ceremony and professional game that draws thousands to the Northeast Ohio museum and event center each year. In 2015, the celebratory weekend featured music from Aerosmith, contests, celebrity appearances and, of course, the ceremony inducting the year’s newest Hall of Famers.
Problem
2015’s events were bigger than ever and required heavy duty equipment to help complete massive stage lighting. Not only did event planners need to complete the staging in a short amount of time, they also needed equipment that could handle the job without being so heavy it would damage the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium field.
Solution
While Canton Erectors had worked with the Hall of Fame for other events, they had not been involved in this capacity, so it was important to work closely with event organizers to understand both the job and weight requirements.
Canton Erectors provided a 45-ton national boom truck to set up the lighting towers and lights. The schedule required precise timing: the machine and operator arrived for setup on a Tuesday afternoon and returned early Sunday morning at 2 a.m. to help crews safely tear down the lighting towers in time for that afternoon’s game. The boom truck provided met project specifications to accomplish the job without damaging the surrounding field.
Results
The beautiful, well-lit stage provided the perfect centerpiece for the week’s ceremonies and events. Event organizers were extremely happy with the crane operator and the work done and expressed their intent to utilize Canton Erectors for this same type of job at next year’s Hall of Fame Enshrinement.
